Happy (almost) fall! I love the start of the back to school season, and right now we’re just starting to get into the swing of things. Yes, some of the college kids from down south may have started to go back for recruitment, but up here in the Northeast, we have two weeks to go! With that being said, I wanted to share my six picks that all college girls should buy for their first apartment.
When I moved into my townhouse/ apartment this summer, I forgot some of the things I had the luxury of having when I lived in a regular dorm. I had never cooked before, so some of my choices came from that, or having my own bathroom. These were two things I did not have to worry about when I lived in a freshmen dorm, so most of my purchases revolved around this! Without further ado, here we go!
Skillet: Yes, a skillet. Every girl should go out and buy one. Right now. I’m not joking, this pan saved my life cooking for myself. I made stir-fry, eggs, and reheated food. This product is extremely versatile and you need one in your life.
Cookie Sheet: Like the skillet, you need this cookie sheet. Yes, you’ll make cookies with this, but not only that, you can use this to roast vegetables, reheat foot, and do so many other things!
Hand Towels: Am I the only one who forgot to bring paper towels, and a hand towel to my first apartment? Yes, oh, awkward. When I lived in a traditional residence hall, I used paper towels that were in the bathroom to wash my hands. Not having the luxury of having a cleaning staff who would replace the paper towels, I had to run out and purchase two! One for the kitchen and one for my bathroom. These are in basic colors, but you could spice it up with some patterned ones!
Trash Can: My room and the bathroom did not come with a trash can for the summer, but I knew that my room for the fall would come with one, so if you’re looking for a more permanent option, I love the one I’ve linked, but I just ran out to the dollar store for two (bedroom and bathroom)!
Oven Mitt: Again, with the kitchen supplies. What good is nice kitchen supplies if you can’t get your food out of the stove! Purchase this, and you won’t be disappointed. It’s Kate Spade and adorable!
Bath Matt: I’m not sure about you, but I definitely love stepping on a bath mat after I get out of the shower. It makes any place you go just more homey, and I absolutely love this one. If I saw this one, I would have bought it! It makes your place seem more you! I bought a white fluffy one for my apartment and I love it!
