It’s fall wedding season y’all! Last Friday I had the wonderful blessing to attend my cousin’s wedding! The wedding was absolutely perfect!
The ceremony was outside while the sun setting in the background and was completely stunning. My cousin and his fiance looked so happy and so put together! The reception was one of the most fun parties I had been to! I am not exaggerating when I say that the music was absolutely perfect. The best mix of old and new and had something for everyone. I’m not one to dance often, but I was found on the dance floor a time or two.
I’m going to be completely honest and tell you guys that I was pretty excited for this actual event, but I didn’t have the slightest clue what to wear! I feel like most bloggers who are in their 20’s and 30’s have elegant cocktail dresses or gowns they wear, but as a young college student, both of those options are not affordable and not outfits I could wear again and again. I struggled picking out my outfit. I asked my residents, my friends, and my mom. The night before the wedding I had finally made my decision!
I changed outfits four or five times before deciding on this black scalloped dress. I thought it was perfect because it had sleeves, was basic, and I already had it in my closet! I can’t find a link to it, but it’s by the brand Monteau. I dressed it up with my black, block heels from Target which can be found here, which were amazing. My feet and skinny heels do not mix, and when I saw these on Renee’s post, and thought I absolutely needed them. Turns out, I was right! I wore them to class on Friday and to the wedding and never felt like I needed to take them off!
I definitely dressed up the look by wearing lots of silver jewelry. I had on my silver monogram, Aloha Mantra Band, David Yurman cuff, Kate Spade silver bangle with the saying, Try to Find the Silver Lining, (similar), my two rings I purchased locally, a Pandora ring, and a David Yurman ring. Jewelry definitely makes or breaks an outfit and I definitely glad I with the pieces I chose.
I was so happy to be apart of my cousin’s wedding day! I’m incredibly lucky to have an incredible family. I hope this post can strike inspiration for anyone in college having to attend a wedding!
