Hey guys! I’m not sure if it’s just summer and I have a lot more time on my hands, but lately, I’ve been thinking more and more about the future, which you probably could tell with my last post linked here. I’ve been thinking about what I want more in the long-term sense, but also for the next year and what I want my life to look like (vague I know!) Here are three things that I’ve been currently thinking about:
1: Being Inspired
So many of my favorite influencers and content creators have been putting out amazing content lately! Brooke Miccio and Danielle Carolan are both killin’ it on their Youtube videos lately and just announced they’ll be hosting a podcast when they go back to school! I’ve already listened to their intros on Spotify and needless to say I’m excited! I’ve been keeping up with Tori Sterling as she opens her own fitness studio very soon as well. It’s amazing to see young women my age do such amazing things as these ladies have, which is so so so inspiring to see!
- Authenticity
Lately, I’ve been clearing out my Instagram feed of influencers and people who just don’t seem genuine and real in the content they are putting out. In today’s world, it seems like every other post is #sponsored by someone who has never talked about the product before or even heard of it! I understand influencers need to make money to keep putting out content, but there’s a genuine way of showcasing products you love versus one who you may not even use. I’m looking forward to seeing where this industry goes as more and more companies are looking to use sponsored content in their marketing plans.
- Learning
At my internship I find myself being really motivated and wanting to just learn all the time. (I’m a closet nerd at heart if you don’t know me IRL.) I’ve been reading non-stop, getting different professional certifications, and listening to podcasts, all of which I love. I’ve been feeling like a little fish in a big pond and I’ve been trying to get all the knowledge lately. Listening to the podcast, How I Built This with Guy Raz. The podcast is about “‘innovators, entrepreneurs, idealists, and the stories behind the movements they built’ produced by NPR.” Let me tell you, if you need something to get you through the first hour or two of work like I do, this is what you need in your life. It’s so motivating to see how a simple idea turned regular people into CEO’s, CMO’s and much more. So far I’ve listened to the Dry Bar podcast, Lululemon, WeWork, Kendra Scott, Chipotle, and that’s all for now I believe. It’s motivating, witty, funny, and inspiring. Listening to something positive like this podcast always leads my day off to a great start while I’m responding to emails or trying to catch up on the latest tech news. I started listening to podcasts in 2015 before they got ‘cool,’ so it’s been really fun seeing all these new topics and discussions emerge. I’m definitely looking to expand on my podcast selection soon.
I hope you enjoyed this post, I foresee a lot more of posts like these on the blog! I’ve been thinking of starting a weekly series for a while now and I think this one will do the trick!
Tell me a few things you’ve been interested in learning this summer down below in the comments.
